Recruiter, Girl Trouble Capture Postponed Parx Juvenile, Futurity Stakes

On Tuesday, December 3rd, Parx Racing held two $75,000 wagers originally scheduled for 2-year-olds in the last week of 2022 but had to be postponed due to weather. The newly minted 3-year-olds raced seven furlongs on a sloppy main course in Bensalem, Penn., fillies in the Parx Futurity and males in the Parx Juvenile.
Girl Trouble dominated the Parx Futurity by 5 1/4 lengths, her third straight win and fourth overall for trainer Robert Reid, Jr. She led almost throughout and was late in the hand under jockey Paco Lopez.
Bred in New Jersey, Fast Anna’s daughter raced for Swilcan Stable LLC and LC Racing LLC and completed the seven stages in 1:27.78. Girl Trouble, now a $202,500 earner with four wins from seven starts, was a $15,000 purchase at the 2021 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Eastern Fall Yearling Sale.
A race earlier, Recruiter went unbeaten in four starts when he won the Parx Juvenile by 2 3/4 lengths under Mychel Sanchez. Trained by Cathal Lynch for owners Nick Sanna Stables LLC & Lynch Racing LLC, Army Mule’s son completed seven stages in 1:26.75.
Recruiter, a $125,000 purchase in last year’s OBS promotion in June, has now won two stakes races, one in Maryland and this one in Pennsylvania, with career earnings of $170,100.
