HOT SUMMER FOR JOE BRAVO
Jockey Joe Bravo continued his exceptional season by racking up four graded stakes wins last weekend. That now gives ‘Jersey Joe’ a total of 12 graded stakes wins so far in 2016, and it moves him into fifth on the American Graded Stakes Standings jockey list.

Bravo’s lucrative weekend began at Saratoga on Saturday, where he piloted A.P. Indian to victory in the Grade 1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt. On Sunday, Bravo was back at his home base at Monmouth Park which hosted five graded stakes races, highlighted by the G1 Haskell Invitational.
Bravo proceeded to win three of the five graded stakes on the card, starting with the G2 Monmouth Cup, which he captured with Bradester. In the following race, the G3 Oceanport, Bravo was once again in the winner’s circle, this time with Blacktype. His final stakes win of the day came aboard Itsonlyactingdad in the G3 Matchmaker.
Bravo’s other 2016 graded stakes victories were as follows – G1 Stephen Foster Handicap (Bradester), G3 Belmont Sprint Championship (A.P. Indian), G3 Pegasus (Donegal Moon), G2 Pan American (Kaigun), G3 Red Bank (Middleburg), G1 Madison (Sheer Drama), G3 Shakertown (Undrafted), and G3 Razorback (Upstart).
